About Kneaded

Kneaded provides a unique shared baking experience and professional expertise in artisan bread baking.

Susannah Vickers got involved with bread making as part of Bedale's community bakery project, Bread Actually. Its trials and tribulations were filmed as part of a BBC three-part series, The Big Bread Experiment, broadcast late last year.
Having learned her craft, Susannah spotted a gap in the market and set out to create informal bread making courses that could be used as team building exercises, for individuals wanting to learn, for friends and families interested in making their own bread and for clubs and membership organisations.
The Kneaded Experience was born!

"My experiences as a baker have left me with a huge passion for real bread and for sharing my skills. I have found that making bread with others can create a real positive experience and bring people together in an amazing way.

I have worked as a head baker for an award winning bakery and taught numerous volunteers the skills and importance making real bread. During my time there I was featured in an episode of BBC1’s Countryfile, giving an introduction to bread to televisions Matt Baker! I was also highly involved with the BBC2 documentary, The Big Bread Experiment in which my community was brought together through bread.

I trained with two award winning artisan bakers in Bath who as well as featuring on The Big Bread Experiment, have just published their first book 'The Bread Revolution'."
